Nadu: Best New Indian Restaurant in Chicago
The kind of meal you'll rave about and immediately plan to repeat.
Every so often, a new restaurant opens that instantly makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, that place you’ll bring friends to impress them, that place you’ll keep thinking about days later, and as soon as you leave, you’re already planning your return. For us, that place is Nadu.
We came in curious and left obsessed. Onto the food…
You’ll want to start your meal with the dosa. Crispy, rich, and filled with perfectly spiced potato. We devoured it so fast that we had to order another round immediately.
Another showstopper were the ribs. If we had to pick a single favorite, this would be it. The perfect balance of spices and sweetness, with fall-off-the-bone texture.
For mains we tried the the butter chicken, yes, basic, but Nadu executes it perfectly, as well as the Kerala Beef Roast, which was probably our least favorite of the night, but still really good.
For breads, we got the garlic naan which was really good, but was overshadowed by the most buttery and flaky nool porotta.
Our verdict: go now, then go again. We’ll probably see you there.
